Child marriage is a prevailing issue that results in a violation of children’s rights all around the world, especially in South Asia. It results from the interplay of economic and social forces. Marrying girls at a young age (before 18 years of age) is an outcome of social, cultural, or economic norms that undermine the value of an individual's human rights, especially young women and girls. It deprives young girls to make important decisions about marriage, sexual health, and physical and psychological well-being. In many cases, it deprives them of education and forces them to take on responsibilities and duties which they should not be burdened with at that early age.
