The incidence of child labor in the world especially in the global south is the result of poverty, migration, urbanization, and the economic and industrial exploitation of the labor class. Children are enslaved, at times separated from their families and are forced to work in hazardous environments at factories, workshops, brick kilns, mines and quarries, construction sites and agricultural fields, etc. The exploitation of children at an early age inevitably leads to problems related to their physical, psychological, and cognitive health and development.
