Abstract:	The title compound, C7H8N2O2, is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation for non-H atoms = 0.029 A ̊ ). In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N—HO hydrogen bonds generate an R2 2 (8) ring motif.
